What Brings Me a Sense of Ease

"If the suffering Jesus endured did not make him give up on us, nothing will.” - Tim Keller

If God loves me, why am I suffering? If I believe in Jesus, why do I struggle to feel happy or joyful? I pray, read my Bible, serve, and attend church regularly—so why do I feel depressed, sad, and anxious? These are likely some of the questions you're wrestling with if you're a Christian trying to make sense of the pain you're experiencing.

Or maybe you've been struggling for a long time and just wish someone could truly understand. You’re afraid to open up about your struggles because you're worried about being judged or shamed. Perhaps you even wonder if Christianity is worth believing in the midst of your pain. You long for someone to listen with empathy, rather than offering quick fixes, trite answers, or empty platitudes.

Too often, Christians who are hurting are given scripture and told to pray more, have faith, and ignore their feelings. While prayer, scripture, trusting God, and not letting emotions have the final say are important, presenting them as simplistic solutions to complex issues can minimize their pain, often making it worse. Worse still, it can leave them feeling blamed or not good enough. There is no one-size-fits-all solution to suffering, especially when it comes to mental afflictions.

My passion is to walk alongside hurting and struggling Christians, offering them a safe space to be seen and heard without fear of judgment. I approach them with compassion and acceptance, helping them make sense of their pain so they can begin to heal.

I understand that reaching out for help can be difficult, especially when you’ve been made to feel ashamed for doing so. While I may not know the exact pain you’re facing, I do know that carrying it alone is a heavy burden. There is hope and grace for you—you don’t have to suffer alone any longer.
