What Brings Me a Sense of Ease

  • When I am not working I am usually spending time with my amazing wife and two kids. For my self-care, I seek peace and recharge by hiking among the redwoods and pines or paddle-boarding on clear and calm lakes. Often when I feel the most alone in nature, I also feel the closest to God as well.

I offer specialized supervision and training for the associate therapists at Love Your Story. I provide the therapists with direct and frequent coaching and consultation to ensure their clients receive the best care possible. Our associates are phenomenal clinicians and through the process of supervision they get to refine their skills and expand their expertise.

My work in training therapists extends beyond Love Your Story. I also serve as an adjunct professor at Simpson University, where I teach couples therapy to master’s-level students.

Alongside my work in supervision and teaching, I maintain a private practice specializing in  restoring broken and dysfunctional relationships.  I have extensive experience working with couples and individuals who are fighting to keep their relationship alive or are hoping to rebuild trust and intimacy.

My clinical work is also deeply connected to church communities. I am a go-to referral resource for churches throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and Redding and advocate for mental health and relational wellness among church staff and congregants. Through workshops and consultation, I help church leaders engage thoughtfully and practically with relevant mental health and relational issues.

Below are several workshops I offer for church staff and lay leaders through Pepperdine’s RelateStrong Leadership Series:

  • Help for the Anxious Christian
  • Leading with Compassion: Hope Through Depression
  • Self Care for Leaders
  • Understanding the Pain and Peace Cycle
  • Sexual Intimacy: Cultivating Healthy Physical Intimacy in a Culture of Sexual Myths
  • Addressing the Issue of Pornography
